The world smartphone market is getting flooded with new smartphones every day. Huawei launched Honor View 20 with eye-popping specifications. It packs top-notch Kirin 980 processor, 6 Gigs of RAM and a massive 48-megapixel camera. The specification and design are enough to fall in love with this phone. But does it really perform to our expectations? Let’s find out. Few things that we are going to focus on are:
These are the few specifications that Honor View 20 packs. Now let’s look at the overall analysis of this smartphone.
We have seen excellent build quality
from Honor till now and this phone is no exception to that. The phone just look
amazing with a dazzling reflective body with an accurate finishing that no one
can ignore. The smartphone has a glass back and can easily attract the
fingerprints, cleaning up is needed every now and then. My advice is to use it
with the case provided with the phone.
Front of the phone has a Bazzel-less
awesome display. The speakers are placed at the top in the tiny space between
the display and frame. The front camera is at the top left corner.
On the top, you get a headphone
jack, IR blaster and light sensor. At the Bottom, there is a Type- C port
along with speakers.
The overall design of the Honor View
20 is quite impressive and I am glad that honor didn’t remove the headphone
The “Punch Hole Design”. This term is buzzing around the tech world now. The front camera of the Honor View 20 sits in the top left corner of the display. This is a creative way to get rid of a notch that is being hated by many users. Somehow smartphone companies found a way to get rid of it to give another direction to Bazzel-less display.
Honor View 20 packs massive 6.4 inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD 1080P resolution with 398 PPI density. It comes with pre-installed protection screen which protects your phone from minor scratches and acts as shockproof.
The screen to body ration is about 91.80% which is awesome in my opinion. Because of this, the phone looks stunning and elegant. The display is bright enough to use it in daylight and in open sunlight. The display produces whooping 465 lux brightness which enough to use the phone in broad daylight. The pixel density is enough to produce crisp clear images which are such pleasures to watch on such a big and bright display.
what can I say about the camera, the
48-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX586 sensor and f/1.2 aperture looks quite
impressive. Honor View 20 packs the worlds first 48-megapixel camera with a
great price point.
Well, more megapixel doesn’t mean
better photos but the Sony sensor does a really great job at producing amazing
photos and portraits. With such a great camera specification, Honor View 20
manages to produce excellent lowlight performance.
Alongside the 48 megapixel camera, there is an option for 2x lossless zoom and 10x digital zoom. The camera also has the AI mode which captures multiple photos and combines into one to produce a much detailed image. It really works like a charm but strugles a bit in low-lighting condition and requires you to hold the phone for a few seconds until it finishes.
The front-facing camera does a great
job of capturing real images with its 25-megapixel camera along with f/2.0
aperture. But the front camera struggles a bit in low light condition.
Overall the performance of the
camera is quite brilliant and can easily surpass its competitors.
The Honor View 20 packs super powerful Octa-core Kirin 980 processor ( 2×2.6 GHz Cortex-A76 & 2×1.92 GHz Cortex-A76 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55). Such a powerful process gives the sustained performance without costing battery much.
Along with this Honor View 20 also packs the Mali G76 MP10 GPU which gives smooth gaming experiences. The 6GB RAM does a good job running all the application and games smoothly. You can easily get 30fps for heavy games like PUBG, Asphalt etc.
#The Magic UI
The View 20 runs on Honor’s magic UI software. The UI looks much similar to Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro but with a new name. The app icons are given a touch of iOS-like UI. The magic UI is not so attractive like its competitor ( Pixel 3 or OnePlus 6T) but certainly not bad. The UI is doing a good job in power saving features.
The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back and is very accurate and fast. The Honor View 20 also has a 2D face detection Unlock. The face unlock is very accurate but struggles a bit in low light.
The Honor View 20 packs the 4000mAh massive battery with fast charging support. The smartphone charges from 0-100 in about 2 hr 20 minutes. But once it’s charged it lasts longer than you would expect. I am very much satisfied with the battery performance of the phone.
At around 37,999 INR, Honor View 20 is a definitive purchase. The Honor View 20 sports striking CPU and GPU Performance for gaming and day to day task. Though the smartphone is not so cheap it certainly performs much better if compared with its competitors.
